What officials said
Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley described the shooting as an argument between "two cowards" who shot at each other. He said a 12-year-old girl, probably there to watch football, was killed in the crossfire.
Mayor Brandon Scott called the shooting "disgusting, heartbreaking, and unacceptable" on X and promised to hold those responsible accountable. At a news conference, he said it was one of the most disgusting things he had ever seen. He noted that the youth league works daily to keep kids on the right path, and that this was its homecoming.
Charm City Buccaneers coach Mark Brown said the gunfire broke out in the middle of the game.
